CAMBRIDGE UNIVERSITY: Architecture UCL: Professional Qualification

  • I am passionate and committed about learning and sharing my life-skills and experience. Achieving your dream of studying your favourite subject at University, requires tenacity, dedication and self-belief, as well as raw talent, of course.

My family arrived in the UK in 1975, fleeing persecution in Chile. I was three years old. I grew up in humble circumstances, with limited resources, and attended poor schools until gaining a scholarship to an excellent school at 14. At the less advanced schools, sadly my sister and I were picked on and singled out for being clever. Children can be cruel sometimes.

Yet, I achieved a place to study Architecture at The University of Cambridge for undergraduate and post-graduate studies. This was followed by a professional qualification at University College London.

I know the journey you are about to embark on.

With my support, my younger sister attended Cambridge University too, to study Medicine. She is now a successful, respected, specialist Consultant Doctor within the NHS.

I live and work in Cambridge, it’s a magical city with incredible, interesting and diverse people from all over the world. As well as being an Architect, Interior and Garden Designer, I am a fully-qualified yoga teacher. I also volunteer-teach Cuban dance once a week to city-folk, and once a week at Darwin College Cambridge to 100, mostly postgraduate students across the University.

I wish to support you to achieve your dream, discover your purpose and begin the life-long journey of living a balanced and fulfilled life, where you make a difference to your community, country and our beautiful planet!
